The eyes are like the “window of soul”, a window to the soul of the one you’re looking at because the eye is the one that we use to see and that is the most important function.  We process and store what we see.  The theme of the eye in the movie is important because not only the regular function but the eye can give out emotional response to certain situation.  We can tell someone is lying by looking in their eyes, we can tell happiness or sadness by looking their eyes.

I like the way that they said about that killing a replicant is not execute but rather retired.  This really separate the boundary of human and robot because the robot is not a living thing so killing it is not immoral and killing it we are just retiring it.  But the replicants are more than just robots.  The fact they are willing to risk their lives for a cause is more like a human.  The replicants in Bladerunner are like the robots in RUR.  But, if you look at it more then the robot in RUR and the replicants are the metaphor figures of minority in our society.   We seem to ignore and treat the treat the minority badly and that is root of revolution and war.  In RUR the robots were treated as workers and laborers and they don’t have rights and they revolution of robot started.  Same thing in the movie, the replicants are seem to be criminals and were castaway to a bad world.  That is very much how revolution started in our society.

also, why does it always raining in Bladerunner?   also the color in the movie is more like dark contrast?  why is that?  is that how they understand about the future?
maybe because we are talking about the future and with climate change that make it rain everyday?  also over populated made everyone of all the different spot around the world in one spot (there are many ethnicity in one small spot in the movie).  But why Japanese theme?  maybe at the time Japan was considered the most advance country?
