when i were young, all the witch i know are from children's literature.for example Anderson's fairy tale. when i got older, the witch i know are from harry poter. In the book, the traditional witch usually live alone in the forest, and she is the symbol of evil，ugly and mysterious. all of the witch will die because of the described bad nature in the book. however nowadays, witch is not the evil part anymore, even some of them are the mainly role in the book. In the book Harry Potter, witch will not only have a family, they also have characteristics.the mom Moly in the book, she has seven children, though she has magic power, she still have poor life, she always say magic can not support life. Now, most of the children are behaving like adult, they do not believe witch anymore compare to my generation. from the traditional characteristics that witch had before, now witch are a group of people who are willing to help human and are gradually becoming a positive role in the book. I think this is the modern culture's influence. The changing characteristics of witch are reveling us the women's social status in the past century.
